The ninth annual Scranton Tractor Ride is scheduled on Saturday, Aug. 14. The event starts and ends at the Scranton Community Center. There is no fee to participate in the approximately 60 mile ride.
Trailer parking and registration begins at the Community Center at 7 am. The wheels will roll out of town at 8 am. Drinks and food will be available at registration for a free will donation to the Community Center.
Lunch is planned at Just One More in Jamaica. The cost of the meal (cheeseburger, side, chips and fountain drink) is $7, which must be pre-paid at registration.
Drivers and riders MUST sign a waiver. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian if under age. No ATVs, UTVs or All Terrain Vehicles are allowed. The tractors must be able to travel at least 12 miles per hour.
A highlight of the trip will be a stop at Bob Van Gundy’s rural Jamaica farm to view his tractor collection.
